Linux Friday: How To Burn An .ISO File Using Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10

But how do I burn the .ISO to DVD? Windows users, be sure to read How To Burn An .ISO File In Windows XP which shows you how to burn an .ISO file in Windows XP.

  1. First you need an .ISO to burn. This can be one that you downloaded (Linux distribution) or from a movie you want to back up. Once you have your .ISO, navigate to that file using your file browser.
  2. Right click on the file and choose “Open with CD/DVD Creator.” This will open the CD/DVD creator window entitled “Write to Disc”. There you can choose what to name the CD/DVD and the burn speed.
  3. Finally, click “Write.” This will start the burning process. Now all you have to do is wait for your CD/DVD to finish burning.
